Comprehensive Traffic and Parking Survey - Middle East || Roundabout || TMC - Turning Movement Count

Project Objective
To perform a multi-faceted traffic analysis study including roundabout TMC, right-in/right-out access movements, entry/exit counts, parking occupancy, dwell time surveys, and weaving segment analysis. This data will support traffic flow optimization and infrastructure planning during peak periods in the area of the Middle East.
Study Components
1. Turning Movement Count (TMC)
- Location: 4-arm Roundabout at intersection
- Survey Days: One weekday (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) and one weekend day (Saturday/Sunday)
- Survey Time:
- AM Peak: 06:00 AM – 09:00 AM
- Midday Peak: 12:00 PM – 03:00 PM
- Evening Peak: 05:00 PM – 08:00 PM
- Total Hours: 18 hours
- Survey Methodology: High-definition video recording with automated post analysis. Vehicle classification includes motorcycles, passenger cars, buses, HGVs, and LGVs. Data recorded in 15-minute intervals.
2. Right In/Right Out (RI/RO) Count
- Location: Intersection
- Survey Methodology and Duration: Same as above TMC (18 hours total)
3. Entry/Exit Count (ATC)
- Locations: Entry and Exit points of a petrol station ]
- Survey Days: One weekday and one weekend
- Survey Duration: 24 hours each day (48 hours total)
- Survey Methodology: High-definition video recording and automated post analysis with classification and 15-minute interval recording
4. Parking Occupancy Survey
- Location: On-street parking
- Survey Days: One weekday and one weekend
- Survey Duration: 24 hours each day (48 hours total)
- Methodology: Manual-based parking beat followed by high-definition video capture and automated post analysis. Vehicles classified into 5 types. Data in 15-minute intervals.
5. Serving Time / Dwell Time Survey
- Locations: Lube Bay, Car Washing Center, Vacuum Bay, Pressure Reduction, and Fueling Points
- Survey Days: One weekday and one weekend
- Survey Time:
- AM Peak: 06:00 AM – 09:00 AM
- Midday Peak: 12:00 PM – 03:00 PM
- Evening Peak: 05:00 PM – 08:00 PM
- Total Hours: 18 hours
- Methodology: High-definition video recording with automated post analysis. Each vehicle’s entry, exit, and dwell time per facility are recorded.
6. Weaving Segment Surveys
- Locations:
- Ramp 1 to Ramp 2 (400m segment)
- Ramp 1 to Through (400m segment)
- Survey Days: One weekday and one weekend
- Survey Time:
- AM Peak: 06:00 AM – 09:00 AM
- Midday Peak: 12:00 PM – 03:00 PM
- Evening Peak: 05:00 PM – 08:00 PM
- Total Hours: 18 hours
- Methodology: High-definition video recording and automated post analysis. Counts categorized into motorcycles, light vehicles, school buses, and trucks. Data in 15-minute intervals.
Exclusions
- Vehicle queue length and pedestrian counts
- Merge and diverge volumes
- Parking bay angles and types
- Illegal parking and turnover durations
- Vehicle registration numbers
